Amatriot is seeking an Elastic Architect/Engineer to support its DCSA contract based at Quantico, VA. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, optimizing, and providing operational support for the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats).
The position develops scalable solutions for large-scale data ingestion, real-time search, analytics, and visualization to support data-driven decision-making and compliance with relevant data governance policies. The architect/engineer collaborates with cybersecurity professionals, engineers, and IT staff to enhance data pipelines, dashboards, and the overall data platform.
Design scalable, high-performance Elastic Stack solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
Develop and maintain data models, indexing strategies, and shard allocation plans.
Install, configure, and maintain Elastic Stack components in cloud or on-premises environments.
Build and manage data ingestion pipelines using Logstash, Beats, and integration tools such as Kafka.
Implement data transformation, enrichment, and parsing logic to prepare data for indexing.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability across the platform.
Develop complex search queries, aggregations, and analytics to extract insights from data.
Create interactive dashboards and visualizations in Kibana.
Work with stakeholders to understand data needs and develop custom analytics solutions.
Monitor cluster health and performance; proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
Optimize index performance, query speed, and resource utilization.
Perform capacity planning to support future growth.
Administer the Elastic cluster, including upgrades and patching.
Implement and manage role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and SSO for the Elastic Stack.
Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for the data platform.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications with the Elastic Stack.
Provide expert-level support and guidance to platform users.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within the Elastic ecosystem.
Stay current with Elastic Stack features, best practices, and industry trends.
Research and evaluate new technologies and plugins to enhance platform capabilities.
Document architectural standards, procedures, and best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity and/or Information Systems Management, or equivalent experience. [Required]
Minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, search engineering, or big data solutions. [Required]
Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse customer base, verbally and in writing. [Required]
Meet 8570 IASAE III certification requirements at the time of hire, such as CISSP-ISSAP or CISSP-ISSEP. [Required]
Active Top Secret clearance, with eligibility to be upgraded to TS/SCI. [Required]
Location: Quantico, VA 22134, USA.
Remote flexibility and telework are available. This is primarily a telework position, with a requirement to be onsite up to three (3) days a week at Quantico Marine Corps Base, VA. [Required]
If the alternate worksite is outside DCSA facilities or corporate office space, reliable voice communication and a stable, capable internet connection are required. [Required]
Elastic Certified Engineer (ECE) certification is highly desired.
Cell phone preferred for voice communication when working from an alternate worksite outside DCSA facilities or corporate office space.
