Hardware Installation Technician – Level I

Department: ManTech - DoS - SDO2
Location: Chantilly, VA

Location: Chantilly, VA

Clearance: Active interim Secret clearance or above

Target Salary Range*: $40,000 - $42,000

*This represents the potential salary range for this position depending on education level, years of experience and/or certifications in addition to other position specific requirements which may impact salary


Position Overview

The Hardware Installation Technician Level 1 supports the installation, imaging, preparation, deployment, and support of Windows-based computer systems, laptops, workstations, peripherals, and related equipment. This role assists with deployment activities, inventory coordination, documentation, customer site support, and equipment movement or shipping needs.


Key Responsibilities

System Installation and Deployment Support

  • Perform installation and support of new Windows-based computer systems.
  • Install images and software on laptops and workstations.
  • Prepare computers for deployment.
  • Support deployment activities.
  • Assist with the installation and support of computer systems and peripherals.

Inventory, Equipment, and Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate with management for inventory, hardware orders, equipment movement, and shipping needs.
  • Travel to customer sites and perform deployment activities, including site surveys, hardware installation, software installation, hardware removal, and checking hardware for shipment.

Documentation and Deliverable Support

  • Assist in assuring that work products comply with established deliverable guidelines, including format and content.
  • Assist in the development of documentation based on the customer’s processes.

Additional Duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Experience

  • 2 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • Experience in customer service.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and effective decision-making.
  • Skill with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to travel to DC to deploy equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to type.
